Ben, first I need to know if you are using the Psrs910 or the Tyros4?
To adjust the volume parts, here how it works for both keyboards.
This is done from the main screen.
To make sure you are on the main screen, press the direct-access button followed by the exit button. No matter where you are in the menus, this will always get you back to the main screen.
The 8 upper and lower buttons below the screen becomes volume controls.
Push the upper buttons to turn up the volume and push the lower buttons to turn down the volume. In the case, of the Tyros4, there are 8 slider controls right below the upper and lower buttons. You can use these sliders instead of the upper and lower buttons if you wish.
Button 1 slider, controls the volume for the playback of a midi file.
Press the play button on the song control section to start the playback and use this button slider to adjust the volume.
Button 2 slider, controls the volume for the playback of a style.
After selecting a style, adjust the volume for it with this control.
Button 3 slider, controls the volume for the multi-pads.
Use this control to adjust the volume for the multi-pads.
Button 4 slider, controls the volume for the vocal microphone.
Connect a microphone and use this control to adjust the microphone.
Button 5 slider, controls the volume for the left hand voice that is selected for the left hand neither in split mode or while using a style.
Use this control to adjust the volume for the left hand voice.
Make sure, the left hand voice is turned on in the voice group part control section.
Button 6 slider, controls the volume for right hand voice 1.
Use this control to adjust the volume for the right hand 1 volume.
Button 7 slider, controls the volume for right hand voice 2.
Use this control to adjust the volume for the right hand voice 2 volume.
Button 8 slider, controls the volume for right hand voice 3.
Use this control to adjust the volume for the right hand voice 3 volume.
Note, Only the Tyros4 has 3 right hand voices.
On the Tyros4, there is a slider control that is a little to the left of the slider 1 control. This slider is some what by it's self, with about a 3 quarters of and inch between it and slider 1. This controls volume for left, right 1, 2, and 3 voices all at the same time. It does not control the volume for the style, multi-pads and song midi playback.
Remember all of this is controled from the main screen.
So after selecting a style or a voice or any other function,
press the direct access button followed by the exit button to a sure you are on the main screen.
There is a button labeled volume part which will get you to the main screen.
On the Tyros4, it is just below the channel on and off button just to the left of the slider control that is some what by itself.
You can use it as a short cut to the main screen if you wish.
I'm not sure where this button is located on the psrs910.

Ben, will get in to other things later.
Maybe we should do this off list, unless other members are interested as well.

Hi Mark,

I successfully used the accompaniment feature as you described to record an MP3 with Sonar:

Now a few questions:
1) How can I dial down the volume on the accompaniment band so the piano part shines a little brighter?

2) If I follow your instructions exactly, I think I end up with a MIDI file, which sounds lousy unless played on another Tyros 4. Is there a way to save to an MP3 so the Tyros's great voices are preserved?

3) When using the mixer on the Tyros, after you've recorded a channel, is there an easy way to abort, such as ^Z in Sonar?

Thanks for your help -- this is the coolest song I've put together so far! And more tracks tomorrow!

Ben

Hello Ben, I'm glad the demo on the psrs910 Tyros4 was a help to you.
My equipment such as the Tyros4 is conected to a mixer board that is connected to my computer.
I use the Tyros4 and Sonar 8.5 to do this demo.
If there is any thing else I could help you with, just let me know.
Thanks for the kind words for the demo.
I believe in helping folks in operating there equipment.
You take care.

Mark,

This demo was fantastic. I've been struggling with how to easily record multi-track with my new Tyros for a month now. in 5 minutes, you made it crystal crlear.

If you ever want to do more Tyros / PSR 910 tutorials, I'm all ears!

Great work!

By the way, what recording device did you use to make this demo?

Thanks!

Ben

Hello group, a few weeks ago, someone was asking questions about the Yamaha psrs910 arranger keyboard. I am helping a blind friend in Florda with her psrs910 she just perchased. I recorded a demo for her to get her started in creating a midi file on her machine. If anyone of you are interested in the psrs910 or the Tyros, you are welcome to listen to the demo I created.
Here is the link below for the demo file.
