Just record your vocal tracks in mono. Then, using the pan column, you can decide where to place each track. In other words, you can record three vocal tracks, each in their own mono track. Then, you go to the pan column in each track by pressing shift plus the letter P twice. Once there, you can insert the value you want. If you press enter on the pan column, you will then be able to type in a number. Zero will go all the way to the left, while 127 will take it all the way to the right. You can just type in the letter C to put it back in the center.

I hope that helps.

But how can I make it so that a vocal, for example backing vocals are
panned slightly left and right? Sorry if this sounds like a dumb
question, I'm new to this.

Switch it to mono, either select just that 1 channel instead of stereo when recording the track, or select the interleave stereo button and it will make
the track mono; it's a toggle switch.

Subject: [ddots-l] questions on vocal and hiden track

Hi all,
I'm a new member. I'm stumped on recording a vocal track. I have a mic
plugged int mic annolog one on my fw1884. I have a stereo track, however, I have it panned center but I'm only hearing it through the left side. It's a
schure sm 58 mic. Could someone break down the steps so I'm hearing it
through both channels? Thanks!
