Hi,
For customers who own an earlier version of SONAR who want to use
CakeTalking, our policy is to sell them a license for the current version of
CakeTalking at the current price and provide an authorization code for the
earlier version. However, we do not support earlier versions of CakeTalking
or SONAR and, obviously, one cannot expect any maintenance releases to
correct any bugs that might be found.
Also, we sell SONAR Studio for $299 and Producer for $599 to
"payment-with-order" customers. Not sure what you meant by spending $800.

You'll need CT and It all depends on whether bill will sell you CT for Sonar
4. Plus, if you are buying a second hand, already registered or illegal
copy of SONAR, , you may not get support from Cakewalk when you need it.

Should I go for it? I use audition witch is good and I will not stop using
