Again, you want both Windows and Jaws sound coming through the inferior device, your motherboard's sound chip. You want Sonar and other professional music things going through your Focusrite interface. OK?

Under that you go to sound, and where jaws says select a playback device, scrole down to your internal soundcard (whatever it may be), note though that jaws may see it as being speakers and not call it by its model number. Have you set the audio driver in sonar to asio? If not, its possible that sonar could be recording the audio passing through windows. If you are recording soft synths then no other audio source should come through unless you?ve selected it that way! Another thing, if u don?t make your internal soundcard the default sound card in windows 7, jaws will automatically select the default sound card selected by windows. So for instantce, when you power up your scarlett interface and haven?t selected any sound card in windows as your default, windows will automatically use your scarlett interface as its default sound device.
