Mike, Your situation described does not sound like the topic under discussion, which is in installing a decoder to Sonar. However if you are using Switch as I think you said, and as a standalone program, perhaps you need to explicitly enter the extension to the filename field before processing? I checked out the article myself, and while it was informative in so far as getting started in configuring an external encoder, it unfortunately didn't address the quirk I'm having with this business of getting a double extension on my converted files. They work fine when I play them, even if I don't rename them. I have to go in and rename them manually - which I don't mind doing; but I shouldn't have to do that.
