Great! It works!

Thanks Nigel - you've hit the nail on the head! I'm very grateful for your
help.

All the best to you.

  Hi Jake,

It's possible that, if yours is an older Braillo 400, it is not compatible
with the codes that Duxbury is sending. Try selecting Generic as the embosser
model.

    Hi George,

Thanks for your reply. It's the latest version of the DBT demo (we're
looking into whether we can use it or not). But its connected via Serial - this
is because the embosser was built before there was a parallel connection.

      Hi Jake,

What version of Duxbury are you using? How is the Braille connected?
Serial or Parallel?

If it is Parallel, then I suspect you may need to change the BIOS
Parallel Port setting to SPP (Standard Parallel Port).

      George.

        Hello,

I am trying to get duxbury to work with the Braillo 400S embosser but
am having a few problems. It embosses the document correctly apart from there
is a short piece of unwanted braille code - 5 cells - embossed at the
beginning. Also, no matter that all the settings in duxbury and on the
embosser are initially set to single line spacing, it changes the Braillo
settings to double line spacing and so the document is produced double line
spaced. Has anyone any suggestions?

        Help gratefully received

        Jake Kyle
