Hello there,

What you need to do is the following:

1. Open Dbt.
2. Hit Alt+f3 this shows codes going out to the embosser.
3. Then hit f6 then hit control+left bracket.
4. This will put you in the search and replace for codes.
5. Look for the code [fts~b] and also the code [fte~b].
6. When you do this make certain that you only put this in the find box and no replacements.
7. When you hit okay on the search it will then confirm with you that you are wanting to remove all the bold and just say All and you will be done. Also though keep in mind that you must do two completely different searches for these. The [fts~b] tells Duxbury and the embosser to begin the bolding whilst the [fte`b] tells it too end.

Hello:
I have a student who uses DBT 10.4. He uses it to Braille everything. He is having a difficult time taking a Word file (from an email attachment) and removing the italics and bold. I experimented and was unable to remove these as well. I opened the file in MS-Word, selected all, turned bold and italics off, de-selected and re-saved the document. When DBT Braille's it the bold and italics are still there? Why? How can I get rid of bold and italics? Here, at my work place the above steps work on the same file. Please help.
Jennifer
