Scott's instructions are very good; I would clarify by saying that you
should open your Word document in Duxbury, then press Alt-F3 to reveal
the codes. Then do the find and replace sequence as described.

Here's another thought:

With the Word document open in Word, press CTRL-A to select the entire
document. Then press CTRL-Spacebar; this removes all the character level
formatting (like bold and Italic). Then press CTRL-Q; this takes out all
the paragraph formatting. (Don't do this if you want to preserve things
like bullets and numbering applied as a style in Word.) You can also
press CTRL-Shift-N; this keystroke reverts the selected text to Word's
Normal style. The downside of this one is that if you are trying to
preserve heading styles from Word into Duxbury so you can generate a
Table of Contents, the CTRL-Shift-N will take out all the heading styles
along the way.

This sounds complicated, but it takes a couple of seconds, and voila!
All those pesky bolds and italics are history.

Hello there,

What you need to do is the following:

1. Open Dbt.
2. Hit Alt+f3 this shows codes going out to the embosser.
3. Then hit f6 then hit control+left bracket.
4. This will put you in the search and replace for codes.
5. Look for the code [fts~b] and also the code [fte~b].
6. When you do this make certain that you only put this in the find
box and no replacements.
7. When you hit okay on the search it will then confirm with you that
you are wanting to remove all the bold and just say All and you will be
done. Also though keep in mind that you must do two completely
different searches for these. The [fts~b] tells Duxbury and the
embosser to begin the bolding whilst the [fte`b] tells it too end.
