Katie,

I don't know if there are specific rules, but I think using the List style is a 
good idea for recipes.  List causes each line to start at the left margin, and 
have the runover indented two spaces.  As a lifetime braille user, starting the 
lines at the left margin makes them very easy to find when searching down the 
page.
