Ann,

The [ptys] and [ptye] codes assume that you're dealing with line breaks rather than paragraphs. You still have to insert the [svprg] code at the top of the document because you haven't removed the paragraphs. An alternative to using the poetry codes is to change all the paragraph styles to list styles, which will create the hanging indents without using the [svprg] code.

That problem is one of my favorite peeves about Duxbury. They used to
have a way to set paragraph style to none so you got to determine how
you wanted them. Try this.
Go to the top of the print document.
Enter this code
<svprg1:0>
Your hanging indents should be ok. If notk, you might also try using
the poetry code from the codes list. Pick the ptys to start it and the
ptye to end it. If you do that, you'll still have to put in that svprg
code at the top.
I'll bet George has an easier way.

Subject: [duxuser] Hanging Indents

Hi,
I wanted a document to be formatted with hanging indent and I used
Ctrl-T and JAWS confirmed it. But when I embossed it in Duxbury 10.4,
the paragraphs retained the normal paragraph style instead of the first
line being further to the left than the rest of the paragraph. Can
anyone offer suggestions? I would really appreciate it.
I have tried to submit other questions to this forum and they came back.
I hope it works this time. Thanks.
