Vence, I had to write some *very* basic notes on this topic; here they are. 1. Within PowerPoint open the File menu and choose Save As. Change the Save as type from "Presentation" to "Outline/RTF" and click Save. The presentation will be saved with the filetype ".rtf". 2. Within Word open the File menu and choose Open. Change Files of type to "All Files" or "Rich Text Format", and locate the document saved in step 1 and open it. 3. Check the following: * The title of each slide is in Heading 1 style. * The bullet points within each slide may be Normal or a heading style - change them all to Normal. * Go through each slide and make sure the Normal style paragraphs are consistent - sometimes bullet points are represented with the "-" character, sometimes they disappear altogether. * If there are lists within lists, i.e. indented paragraphs, these indents may need to be re-input. * Check for any other deviations from the original PowerPoint document and deal with them as necessary. This may be easier said than done but it is impossible to give precise instructions on how to deal with every eventuality. 4. Open the File menu and choose Save As. Change the Save as type to Word document and click the Save button. 5. From the DBT menu, choose Duxbury Braille. 6. Choose the template as usual, and check that the import filter is "Microsoft Word 6 or later". Hi group. I apparently ws knocked off of the list somehow and hope now to be back on. Well, I am transcribing the handouts for a conference here in Ga. next week. I have received a ppt. presentation and I am not sure if Dux can do what I want it to do. I haven't worked with extracting text from ppt.s. If anyone has some tips and tricks or just good ole instruction on whether or not this is doable and what to do if it is that would be greatly and gratefully appreciated.
