Hi Deb,

Pound to a bad penny (or is that "Dollar to a bad cent) is
you sent it to me, it would work perfectly too.

All my instincts tell me this is a connection or cable
problem locally.  At worst, it may be a dirty electrical
supply within your building.

What I would suggest you do is get a brand new connecting
cable, the shorter the better, and try again.

If the fault is still there, would you be able connect it to
a different PC altogether?
