Betsy and Rick,

The difference between [l] and [<] is that [l] causes a conditional line break and [<] always causes a line break. Thus, if you use several [l] codes in succession, you'll only get one line break, and the rest of the codes will be ignored. The difference is explained in the Quick Codes Reference section under Help.

Rick,
the [p] indents the line in the braille document two cells.
The [<] and [l] esentially do the same thing, start a new line.
Is that enough detail?

Please refresh my memory on how these codes differ: "<", "l", and "p" (I
ignored the brackets.) Should one use the return key, control-l or the
control-m when going to a new line? When materials are scanned I have
noticed that sometimes "l" marks a new line while "<" marks a new line at
other times.

Thanks.
