Dear Nadine,

I'm using both DBT for DOS and DBT for Windows. The DOS version I use is
10;2d and the Windows version is 10.4.

I still have my old PC set up and running until I get used to Windows XP,
(grin).

In my experience of reading my own DOS files with my new PC, I had to make
sure all my Windows settings for margins, interpretation, etc matched my DOS
settings.

My own files work fine, except I must press the left arrow key when I first
open the file.

But when I opened .brf files I downloaded from the web, I had to change
everything to get things to work right because the brf files from the web
used bigger paper than I use.

Do you know what size of paper the original file was set for? I suppose
Australia uses different size paper than we do here in the U.S. I don't
know if the paper standard is different, but it might be something to check
out.

If you are able to run DBT DOS, I think there is still 10;2d or e on the
Duxbury web site. You might try working with the file in the DOS version of
DBT.

It could also be possible the original file used an older version of DOS and
DBTW doesn't know how to interpret batch file commands. (My version did not
use these commands, but I know one person who still uses such a version.)

I guess this is not too helpful, but if any of these suggestions works,
great.
