Janet I'm glad it helped. The next fixed to be tried would have been way more technical, which I had to do. I didn't learn about the alt-p fix till I had mine working so I'm always glad to pass this simple fix along. Even though the printer box was invisible and couldn't be clicked, we could open it with Alt-P and select the printer. As usual we had to reboot for it to take effect. Then not only could she print but magically the brf option also appeared under Save As. Many thanks. There an issue with the printer setup button not appearing. All your student needs to do is when she is in the printer setup area where the button should be just press Alt-P on your keyboard, this will allow her to select her printer. As far as being up able to print in sim-braille; it could be that the sim-braille will work once the correct printer is selected. As for saving in .brf format, I'm not sure none of my students have not had any difficultly have your student try to printing sim-braille and save as in .brf after they correctly configure the printer. If you if that doesn't work let me know and I'll try to see if something else might be the cause. Best of luck; Sincerely yours, Barry From: duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Janet Reynolds Sent: Thursday, May 19, 2011 11:37 PM To: duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [duxuser] Perky Duck query I have had something strange happen with Perky Duck. A trainee is using it to direct enter braille. She installed it on her previous computer and it worked fine. She could also print simbraille and save her dxb as brf. Now she has installed it on a new computer, from the same setup file, and she's lost those options. In "printer setup" the printer button is just missing so she can't select her printer. And in "save as" the drop down menu no longer offers brf. Has anyone else experienced this? She's using Windows 2007. Janet
