hmmm . . . perhaps. And if the problem pops up again, I'll make sure to turn
it off and on.
Grazie,
David

David,
Could it be that you did not recycle the power after your first re-set?

Thanks Bill and George!
Yes, I did a reset to factory settings last week to no avail. But this
morning after getting your replies, although I didn't do another reset, I did
successfully run several print tests via Romeo's Service menu. And then from
Duxbury I embossed one of the problem documents and, wa la, everything came
out just fine! No page skips, YAY!
So I want to thank you for putting the kih bahsh on the emboss! Now, it's
not that I'm superstitious mind you, but just that it's seems way too
coincidental that after my good friends Bill and George heard about my problem,
the problem miraculously disappeared! So, I'm racking it up to psychic
intervention, or perhaps voodoo.
Thanks,
till my next problem,
David

Hi, David,
Further to George's note: if you are using our GoodFeel Braille Music
Translator, you will need to be sure that Embosser Settings are correct. Run
GoodFeel, click on Options and choose Embosser Settings.
You will need to install the Windows Generic/Text-only printer driver. See
the GoodFeel manual for directions (shortcut to manual on GoodFeel submenu).
There is also a brief FAQ entry entitled:
Q. How do I add a generic text-only printer?

Hi David,
I am George Bell, Bill McCann's distributor in the UK and an Enabling
Technologies dealer here too - as well as Duxbury of course!
In these circumstances we would suggest a Reset as described below. If the
problem still persists when you emboss the menu options, it is almost certainly
an embosser fault, and hopefully Enabling Technologies themselves will be able
to advise. Phone: (+1) 772 225 3687
Restoring Factory Settings
If you change too many menu parameters to keep track of, or if you're not
the only person to use the embosser, you might want to reset the embosser back
to the original factory settings. Although you will lose all changes you've
made to the menus, you'll also be starting fresh.
OL Takes the embosser off-line
0.0E Enter the Service Menu
95E Restore the factory default settings
1E Reset the embosser

Subject: [duxuser] Romeo RB-25 Skipping pages
Hi All,
I'm David Pinto, and am new to this group. I have an Academy of Music for
the Blind in the USA and after 4 years of not using our Romeo RB-25 embosser we
just fired it up again. Unfortunately, when embossing anything it consistently
skips pages even if there are no page breaks. For instance, I might have 12
lines of Braille to be embossed on one page, but it brailles it across perhaps
2 or 3 pages . . . . losing it's top of form orientation.
When I use the Romeo's keypad commands to automatically emboss a list of
all the Romeo's menu options, the page skipping also occurs. So, it's probably
the machine rather than my Duxbury 12.1 or the Windows 10 laptop (laptop USB to
Romeo's Serial).
Any thoughts on how to address this problem? The machine is in great shape
otherwise.
Thanks in advance!
David
