Hello George,
I have two requests for DBT 10.5 which would, in my opinion, go a long way
towards making DBT act like most other Windows applications.
1. Allow the use of Control+F6 (and Shift+Control+F6?) to cycle through all
open DBT documents. Now, we must go to the trouble of bringing up the View
menu and selecting the document we want from the bottom of the menu.
2. In the Save File dialog box, make the File Name text box a combobox,
perhaps with the name of the last-saved file already filled in. Now, we
must type the file name from scratch. So, if I've saved a DBT print
document, then translated it to Braille, I am forced to retype the entire
file name again, even though, in most cases, I want to use the same
filename as the print document, except for the file extension. Having this
field filled in and/or being able to arrow down a list of recently-saved
files would be a great timesaver and prevent typing errors.
Of course, if there's already a way to tweak DBT 10.4 to enable these
features, I'd be happy to learn how to do it.
In closing, I thank you for sharing your tremendous wealth of DBT knowledge
with the list, and for your willingness to undergo an onslaught of
suggestions to bring across the pond with you for Duxbury.
I wish you a pleasant trip to the States and a safe return home to the UK.
