I agree this software is more eye candy but it is one of the few I am
aware of that even get close to aiding in the process of conversion to
Nemeth.

That's not one I've heard of. I'll have staff play with it.

We haven't found scanning software that would do the job yet, and I've
looked really hard because it would save us so much time and cut the
costs to customers. And, even if one could get the symbols to come in
well, no software is going to make the kinds of judgments that are
necessary for the calc problems when they are flopped to Braille.

It's hand entry of the text to a great extent and careful editing on the
Braille side by someone who knows Nemeth and calc.

Hello All:

I have a question for you all. We have a client that is going to be
starting a Calculus class on January 3, 2008. He needs his homework
problems transcribed into Braille and we have received several of the
proboems in hard copy.

What I need to know is, what is the best way to get these problems
scanned in, then translated to Nemeth code Braille? Again, these are
equations with limits, integrals, and other formulas that we need to
translate. Does anyone have any ideas on both scanning these in and
getting them translated properly? Is this something that, for example,
Kurzweil 1000 and Duxbury could handle?

Any help is appreciated; we need an answer pretty soon as the class
starts January 3. Thanks in advance.
