Hi Aaron:

You said your reader cleans it up in Scientific Notebook. Are we
talking a reader as in a human being? I assume so but want to make
sure.

Thanks,

Hi all.

I realize that I'm a little behind, but here is what I have done for
this.
First, I scan the book using Infty Reader. Next, I import the LaTex it
generates into Scientific Notebook, where my reader cleans it up. Then,
it gets embossed in Duxbury.

Seems to work ok.

Aaron

[duxuser] Re: Transcribing Calculus ProblemsHello all.

Brett, I think that the "Math Kitchen" software you mentioned is really
the program from MacKichan Software called Scientific Notebook, which we
sell at Duxbury Systems (smile).

However, there is a relatively new program called InftyReader for
performing OCR on scanned mathematical material. There is information
on InftyReader
at:

http://www.sciaccess.net/en/InftyReader/index.html

I have not used InftyReader myself. But one of our DBT beta testers
has found InftyReader to be very useful. He has used InftyReader to
prepare LaTeX files to be translated into Nemeth Code with DBT 10.6.

  Sincerely,
  Caryn
