As Paul knows, GOODFEEL comes with an application we call BrailleView. To call
BrailleView a braille editor at this stage of development would be, let's say,
charitable. It really works best as a viewer. But it has recently been
improved.
We are working to release version 4.2 of GOODFEEL which comes with a version of
BrailleView that fixes a longstanding bug that used to save the form feed
characters as a line of text showing the word "formfeed" delimited by
asterisks. That will make it simpler to save simple changes using BrailleView.
But for extensive revision to GOODFEEL's output, I would think DBT's editor
would be friendlier.
Another advantage of the improved BrailleView is that you can save GOODFEEL's
.gf output to the .brf format. Actually, our friends at Duxbury made it
possible years ago to open our .gf formatted braille files directly in Duxbury.
Our friends at HIMS have also enhanced their braille devices to open .gf files
directly without the need to first rename them to .brf. Our friends at
Humanware and other companies have not yet done so. If you would find it
convenient to open .gf files directly on your BrailleNote Touch or other
devices, please let the manufacturer of that device know. We at Dancing Dots
would be happy to consult with them.

I make braille music scores all the time using Duxbury. Even when I use
Goodfeel to scan scores I still prefer to edit them in Duxbury.

I want to create a few simple music scores that I have been working on and
wanted to check with this list if that is doable using DBT? I don’t have any of
the Dancing Dots software and at this time do not want to make the investment
in it. If I can’t use DBT to accomplish this, is Perky Duck a solution.
