I'm using a fifteen year old enabling Juliet classic with a parallel to usb
connection and Duxbury 10.7. Works for me.

Subject: [duxuser] Will a USB to Parallel cable work with a Versapoint Duo
embosser?

Hi All,

This isn't strictly Duxbury related, but since I plan to use Duxbury to prepare
documents for embossing and actually use it to control the versapoint, I hope
list moderators will forgive me!

We have an old versapoint duo here at the school that only has Parallel or
Serial connection, no USB. Of course computers are all about USB these days.
Has anyone been in the same situation and successfully gotten a Parallel (or
Serial) to USB cable to run their old Versapoint Duo? It is a model BP2B-01
and says Blaize Engineering (as opposed to Freedom Scientific) on it.

I've read a lot of stories about those type of converter cables NOT working, so
if anyone has any advice or suggestions as to how to conquer this particular
beast, I'd love to hear it. Then I can use Duxbury to do some actual
interpoint embossing, which up until now I have been unable to do with the
"new" embosser we have.

TIA,

Nancy
