David, thanks for pointing out that JFW only speaks up to the
non-alpha-numeric
character in DBT.

For ages people have been saying that one can read the codes ok with speech
and
I have been finding that I could only read some codes and parts of others. I
had come to the belief that I must have had something within my JFW set
wrongly
but as it appeared to work well with other programs I had not worried about
trying to change it.

I do, though find it extremely frustrating when some codes are spoken properly
and others need the two cursors to be routed before getting the required info.

Many thanks for explaining so concisely why my problem was occuring. I
feel so
stupid that such a logical answer had not dawned on me.

Regards and thanks

Christine
