[duxuser] header not appearing on first embossed page

The following is more of a minor irritant rather than a major
problem.
Regardless, in 10.4, I am not able to get the header to appear on
the first embossed page.
My documents are usually formatted windows text saved to the
clipboard and pasted into a new .dxp document. However, before
entering the header in the layout menu, I always make certain
that the cursor is on line 1, column 1.
The result is that the header does in fact appear on subsequent
pages but not on page 1. So where am I going astray?
One other thing, if I may. In 10.4, if I wish to do so, is there
a code to completely disable page numbering? When I do wish page
numbering, is there a mechanism to use page 1 as the default
rather than page 2? I know how to do this for each individual
document; however, I would like page 1 to be the default when I
choose to number pages.
