Hi Barb,

Don't worry. You are safe asking this question here.

First, you are allowed to install and additional copy of DBT
on your personal laptop on the basis that you are only using
one machine at a time.

I suspect what has happened on the 98 system is that when
you went to Activate, it asked if you understood the need to
de-activate. This may seem a funny way to do things, but it
is intended to draw people's attention to the fact that you
ideally should de-activate if you wish to move it from one
system to another.

So just check the "Understand the need to de-activate" box,
and continue.

George.

Subject: [duxuser] program used on laptop and desktop
computers

I have a desktop computer and just got a laptop donated for
when I travel. I have a license and have 10.5 on my desktop
computer. Now I want to also have the program on my laptop.
I don't understand the deactivate information. I want to use
the program on both my computers. To further complicate
things. The donated laptop is windows 98 and I have xp on
the desktop computer. I tried to load the program on the
laptop but it would only let me load 10.3. I then downloaded
the 10.5 from the web with my license number but then it
said something about deactivating and I got lost in what to
do.

This may not be an issue for this forum but perhaps others
have this problem too.

Barb
