Hi Daniel, A single-user license, be it for DBT, or any other software these days, is very often limited to no more than two or three systems. Indeed some products such as Windows XP, are very strictly limited to one machine. DBT is no exception is restricting the number of installations. However, in very exceptional circumstances the rules can be flexed. That is for the individual to put their case forward to Duxbury. In a situation such as yours, using today's Windows, one would most likely have a small home network system. You would install DBT on one system. The other systems would then be set up to run DBT from the master machine. However, only one machine at a time could run DBT at any one time. I have seen schools, for example, where they have had a single user DBT installed on 5 or 6 PCs, all being used at the same time. Their argument being that they only have one embosser, so only need one license to drive one embosser. Sadly, illegal use of software has cost developers billions of dollars of lost revenue, and so the software industry of today has been forced to take steps to stop this. After all, if they cannot generate a revenue, they cannot pay their programmers to developed and enhance products. Does Duxbury only allow for a certain number of installations for each licence purchased, or are there an unlimited number of installations, with the Internet keeping track of how many user installations are being performed under a single user licence? Around my house, I have two desk-tops and two lap-tops that could run DBT, and at work, I could put it on another desk-top. Since I have never purchased anything after DOS went the way of the Dodo, I can install DBT for DOS on as many machines as I need Too, provided that I only use it on one machine at a time. Is the Windows DBT a bit more restricted?
