Usually space hyphen space is an incorrect use of the dash and DBT is trying
to compensate for that.
(Most style manuals don't recommend space hyphen space.) But if you want to
force it, type space hyphen hard space and you'll get what you want.

To stop this change space hyphen space to hard space hyphen space.
