Hello, Dean. First of all, when you are importing the file into DBT, choose as your import filter "Formatted text (Windows)", or, in the unlikely event that the ASCII representation of the accented letters is being used, "Formatted Text (MS-DOS)". You'll know which is correct by whether or not the accented letters are mapped properly. When ready to save the document, go to "File", "Save As", and choose as the file type "Formatted text, Windows ANSI (*.prf)", or, if your note-taker prefers, "Formatted text, IBM ASCII (*.prf). The textfiles only have line breaks at paragraph boundaries. I want to translate them into braille with the latest DBTWin, then save them in such a way that they still only have line breaks at paragraph boundaries, and later load them into the note taker. I could use the notetaker's inferior translator, except Duxbury should do better, and the files are in French, so that really isn't an option, as I want to read them in French grade II braille. So far, I can't figure out how to do this. Can anybody help?
