[duxuser] what I did the other day to change my system

I wouldn't have known how to do that. On Sunday my brother was about to install a memory chip on my computer, and when I turned it off it made 22 updates. When we turned it back on, the fan stopped spinning, so my brother had to buy a new fan, take the computer apart, install the new fan, and after that it worked okay. I was reviewing some mail and came across a message about updating Adobe Flash Player, and went to the link specified to see if the player was up to date. The link said the player was up to date, but recommended something called Ninite Net to update other programs on my system. I checked the checkboxes for apps I thought I would want to automatically update (including the Microsoft package), started the updating process, closed; and the next morning Microsoft Word wasn't the same as before. Perhaps during the download process Microsoft changed some configurations and wanted me to validate or verify my copy of Office Works or something, and required entering a product key or code to activate the current copy. I already explained in an earlier message what happened when we removed Word 2007 and how it blew 2003 away with it. I wish there was a way to undo whatever I did that evening and restore Word to its previous state, if possible. Thanks again for your feedback.

Did you try using a restore point to restore your system to a time before you made the changes? Just a thought.
