One long awaited feature that came to the iOS 14 update was the ability to
change default apps for email and web browsing.
So, this means whenever you tap a link or email address it won't try and
open Safari or the Mail app. Instead it will bring you to your preferred
email client or web browser such as Outlook or Chrome.
Of course, if you are perfectly happy with Safari or Chrome ignore this. But
some people might need to use Outlook or Chrome for different reasons such
as having their work emails going through Outlook or you might be using
Chrome on your laptop or PC and if you sign in with your Google account you
can sync and work seamlessly on different devices and access saved
bookmarks.
The following is instructions to do it with VoiceOver. There is no need to
double tap if you are not a VoiceOver user.
Open Settings and decide which one you would like to set as your default,
for this example we are going to set our default as Chrome.
After you have opened Settings flick right until you hear Chrome and then
double tap to open. Then flick right until you hear default browser app
Safari and double tap. Finally flick right until you hear Chrome and double
tap to change. Now Chrome is your default browser.
