Apple HomePod Mini Smart Speaker online course

Description: In this Level 1 Apple HomePod Mini Smart Speaker course, we
present an introductory overview of what is required when setting up the
Apple smart speaker and how it may be used by people who are blind or
partially sighted.
We will discuss the basic features of this smart speaker, including its
layout, using the "wake word" and how to adjust the volume. We will
demonstrate how to listen to radio stations, send text messages, make
telephone calls and create alarms, timers and reminders. Lastly, we will use
it to search for information on a wide range of topics.
Level 1 JAWS Screen Reader Course (5 weekly lessons)
Start Date: Wednesday 31st May
End Date: Wednesday 28th June
Description: in this level 1 Screen Reader course, we will cover the
following areas:
. Introduction to JAWS
. Word-processing with JAWS
. Using Gmail app with JAWS
. Using the internet with JAWS
Commencing on Wednesday 31st May, the course consists of a total of 5
lessons. The dates and times for the JAWS Training course will be:
. Lesson 1: Wed 31st May 3 - 4.30pm
. Lesson 2: Wed 7th June 3 - 4.30pm
. Lesson 3: Wed 14th June 3 - 4.30pm
. Lesson 4: Wed 21st June 3 - 4.30pm
. Lesson 5: Wed 28th June 3 - 4.30pm
Level 1 NVDA Screen Reader Course (4 fortnightly lessons)
Start Date: Wednesday 31st May
End Date: Wednesday 12th July
Description: NVDA is a free screen reader for Microsoft Windows that is now
used in over 120 countries and has been translated into more than 50
languages.
Using the power of NVDA means that people with sight loss can continue to be
active members of the digital society, enjoying access to a range of online
services, as well as education and employment opportunities. If you are new
to the NVDA screen reader and would like to know more, this course is for
you.
Consists of 4 lessons running every fortnight. The dates and times for the
NVDA Training course will be:
. Lesson 1: Wed 31st May 10.30am - 12pm
. Lesson 2: Wed 14th June 10.30am - 12pm
. Lesson 3: Wed 28th June 10.30am -12pm
. Lesson 4: Wed 12th July 10.30am - 12pm
