Changing Voice and Speaking Rate
On a smart speaker you can change the voice and speaking rate to your
preference.
If you have an Amazon Echo, try saying "Alexa Change your voice". Then Alexa
will respond in a male sounding voice, "you are all set I will be the voice
you hear from now on".
If you want to change the speaking rate, just say "Alexa speak slower" or
"Alexa speak faster". If you listen to Kindle books on your Alexa it is good
to be able to change the speed of the reading voice.
On Google nest smart speakers you can say "hey Google change my voice", but
it will not change with just a voice command. It will respond with
instructions on how to do it. It will say "I cannot do that, but you can
change my voice in the Google Home app by going to the top right corner and
tapping on your account and then assistant settings and then change voice
settings".
On your Apple HomePod mini, you cannot change the voice with a voice
command, you will also have to change the voice from your smart phone or
tablet by going to the Home app. While in the Home app go to your HomePod
and open controls. Go to settings and from there find Siri voice and tap on
it. Now you will be presented with a list of voices to choose from including
Irish, American, and many more.
