Read and reply to emails with Alexa
Did you know you can check and respond to emails with Alexa?
To do this you will have to link your email account with your smart speaker.
1. Open the Alexa app and go to Settings.
2. Go to Email and then Calendar.
3. Here you will have 3 options to choose from to link your account.
These are Google email and calendar, Microsoft Calendar and email, and Apple
Calendar. Note the Apple option only allows you to link your Apple calendar
but not your iCloud email.
4. After you choose your email provider, type in your email and
password to link your account.
After you have your account linked successfully you can say "Alexa, check my
email?" and Alexa will start to read your emails from the last 24 hours.
You can also try saying for example "Alexa reply to an email", or "read my
emails from James".
At the moment there isn't a way of composing a new email; you can just
respond to emails received.
In the email settings page in the Alexa app, you can also enter on security
and add a four-digit pin to prevent other people accessing your email
account.
