Thanks David, sound advice, it’s a pop up message.
The agent in technical support at Vodafone, had not come across it before, but
said that in her opinion,
I should update while connected to the mains.

Hey,
If it’s a text message that came in, then as Cearbhall said, I’d be very
sceptical and proceed with extreme caution!
If however, it is a pop-up window, which is something I’ve seen a number of
times before, it’s fine to go ahead. It’s just some settings updates from the
network. It doesn’t surprise me particularly that the call centre agent didn’t
know. But if you want peace of mind, perhaps do try calling again and looking
for a more technical department, or even trying Apple.

Paul,
I would delete the message and do nothing. Even replying and asking
what they mean could simply confirm a scam checking to see if your
email link is valid and active.
As Jackie says, a direct call, away from this message, to Vodafone
tech support might get an explanation. It looks to me like a "Fishing"
message on the face of it!
All the best,
Cearbhall

Hi Guys, getting a message on my phone yesterday and again today,
Network supplier, new settings available from your network supplier,
update or the next box says not now.
NOT SURE what this is all about
Rang Vodafone and they did not know anything about it either.
Any body shine a light on this
Paul
