Groad and I chose the easiest of majors even in liberal
arts.....journalism. Groad and I also ended up getting additional degrees
because, well, journalism. My only job offer as an experienced journalist
was $135/week in Gatesville. I followed my dream and damn near starved. I
later followed good advice and was at least able to keep everyone fed.
My masters (in horticulture of all things) paid off if for no other reason
that it led others to think I knew useful stuff.
