Hi Folks
No to Friday Ad from me, too - it's "yesterday's hero".
Yes to posters and flyer distribution. I recommend that anyone taking posters
round to have some Blue Tack with them and put poster up at time of visit.
Don't leave with shopkeeper, publican etc - they will put to one side and never
get round to it!
Another good vehicle is for any with social media accounts to put a copy of the
flyer on their page. Artwork is available on here from earlier posts, but for
convenience I attach another copy.
Bye fer now.
Rick

Thanks everyone for responding,
I have to agree with Nick here, we really DON’T advertise ourselves widely
enough, and advertising, as we are ALL painfully aware, costs money, and its
also not a precise science (Unless you are willing to pay EVEN more money.. J)
So, on the face of it, it does seem like a lot, but we need as many people to
be aware of our broadcast as possible, perhaps if the Friday Ad isn’t the right
vehicle, what is? I know we are hoping to get a picture in the Observer (Date
to be firmed up for that..) but what else?
We also need to get as many people as would like to volunteer from the
Facebook page to become distributors of the flyers and leaflets…. (Sarah,
perhaps you can organise that or perhaps Tony Davis when he returns, widen his
“Advertising” role… J, then we could use the sales@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx mail
address for people to come forward and volunteer, stuff like: Take some
leaflets, post them in a prominent place, then take a picture of your posting
and post it up on the Facebook page?..... I thinkn that’s how Social media
works best…. Maybe not……
And BEFORE anyone shoots me down with comments about fly posting and fines,
these individuals would be vetted and instructed NOT to fly post stuff, but to
ask neighbours and friends and local shops and businesses to place them in
windows and car windows etc etc…..
If people don’t know we are on the air, how can persuade advertisers they are
getting good value for money……
Anyway, that’s my two peneth…. Will give this a another day or so, then
perhaps we look at what we do….
Rgds

Tina and I both agree with Sarah, we think it's too expensive for the size
and for the publicity it will achieve.

Afternoon all,
With tony D in Spain this week, I have made contact with the Friday ad
people, we can have a 1/16th page ad for 150 quid for one week (there is a
slightly cheaper option if we take a two week ad…). They are sending me
details of art work size and options as we speak. Rick, I have dropped you a
personal mail to see if you are able to produce some small announcement
artwork…..
Deadline for the 27th Edition is Tuesday of next week….
Here are the fine details of costs:
Front page adverts
1/16 page 6cm by 4.8cm 1 week £150+Vat 2 weeks £260+vat
1/8 page 6cm by 10.3cm 1 week £275+vat 2 Weeks £500+vat
…. But are we all O.k to spend this? I reckon it’s a good broad spread, and
ought to be seen by many people, I would personally go for a 2 week 1/16th page
option..
Cheers all.
Tony
