I have a question about this BIRD proposal. In all the discussions on this topic, I can't remember if we ever addressed the boundary conditions of the power terminals of the [External Model] keyword. As far as I remember, with all this ideal isolation unity amplifier discussions we were only talking about the data path. I wonder if we should also say something about the power terminals. I can see two scenarios. When the EDA tool provides an internal power source, it is most likely an ideal source with a zero Ohm impedance. But what happens if the power terminals of the [External Model] is brought out to the pin through the package model? That is not going to be anything like a zero Ohm ideal source. Now what is the Touchstone model maker supposed to do when they are making an S-parameter model that is also connected to the power terminals of [External Circuit]? Comments, suggestions welcome...
