Thanks all for the discussion and feedback in the ATM meeting today on the
C_comp Model BIRD draft. I am encouraged that I may be able to finish this
BIRD relatively soon. I have attached the BIRD draft shown today (with minor
editing in the meeting) as well as a difference document showing changes from
the 6/12/2018 revision.
The attached "highlights" document shows the text shared with BIRD189, for
feedback on potentially referencing existing BIRD189 text in IBIS 7.0 instead
of repeating it. Yellow highlighted text is exactly the same. Green
highlighted text is nearly identical, usually differing only in mentioning
"C_comp Model" instead of "Interconnect Model". I added comments mentioning
other minor differences. There is some overlapping text, but it might be
difficult to remove most of it to a shared definitions section with
Interconnect Models.
Arpad, you suggested adding text (maybe to the Usage Rules section) to say that
[C_comp Model] and [External Model] are mutually exclusive and should not both
be found within the same [Model]. Is that correct?
I also found in IBIS 7.0, page 117, the following text:
The following keywords and subparameters may be omitted, regardless of
Model_type, from a [Model] using [External Model]:
C_comp, C_comp_pullup, C_comp_pulldown, C_comp_power_clamp, C_comp_gnd_clamp
[Pulldown], [Pullup], [POWER Clamp], [GND Clamp]
Would this section need to be modified to include [C_comp Model]? If [C_comp
Model] is prohibited when [External Model] is present, than I don't think this
would need to be modified.
Please let me know if anyone has comments or questions on this latest draft.
Thanks,
Randy
