Review of ARs:

- Michael will try to get access to the IEEE document they are voting on.
He will check into access restrictions first. If we get access to
it, we will need a couple of volunteers to read the document and see if
  it is worth our while.
  - TBD

- Mike to post this powerpoint presentation to the website.
  - Done

- Macro Library Documentation
  - Mike will get to this in Nov

New Discussion:

Arpad encouraged us to read the Verilog AMS LRM:
http://www.eda.org/verilog-ams/htmlpages/public-docs/lrm/2.2/AMS-LRM-2-2.pdf

Arpad showed us an example of a Verilog-AMS resistor module that calls a
resistor VPI. He showed the Verilog and C code for this.
Question: Is this good enough for linear simulation?
The Cadence API proposal is much more generic.

Kumar showed a presentation on proposed changes to IBIS.
AMI = Algorithmic Model Interface
Discussion on where the impulse response comes from. Electrical
characterization of the driver and receiver are needed for this. How
will the IBIS file convey the model info required for characterization?
It could be conveyed by a "legacy" IBIS buffer or AMS. Walter believed
we should ask IC vendors how they feel their receiver models should
be characterized. Arpad felt that that is the "algorithmic part", but we
are currently discussing the "waveform part". Michael Mirmak believed
that we are taking IBIS into the realm of channel simulation, so the
algorithmic part is a valid discussion. Debate ensued on whether or
not IBIS should contain enough model info to implement channel
optimization, which goes beyond merely passing parameters. Walter felt
that channel design is fluid and changes a lot, and anything implemented
in IBIS would be restrictive.
