Hi Fangyi,

I clarified the wording some more based on your feedback. How does this
look?

TrainingDone is of usage InOut and is issued by the receiver model to
signify the

completion of back-channel training. TrainingDone can also be initiated by
the EDA

tool. In this case the parameter TrainingDone=True can be passed from the
EDA tool

to the receiver model. Then the receiver model will re-issue the parameter

TrainingDone=True to the transmitter model to end the training process.

Thanks,

Hi, Ken;

I apologize for my late reply. The text looks fine. You may want to make it
clear that EDA tool will pass the message issued by Rx with
TrainingDone=True to Tx to end the training session.

Fangyi

Hi Fangyi,

One input I got from the last conference call on back-channel was regarding
the TrainingDone parameter from the standpoint of the EDA tool. Typically,
the Rx will decide that training is completed and issue TrainingDone=True.
The EDA tool should also be able to do this since this is an InOut
parameter. The idea here is that the tool could pass TrainingDone=True to
the Rx, and the Rx could re-issue it out to formally end the training
process. So this would always end up going through the Rx for consistency.
Here is what I would update in the BIRD:

TrainingDone:

TrainingDone is of usage InOut and is issued by the receiver model to
signify the

completion of back-channel training. TrainingDone can also be initiated by
the EDA

tool. In this case the parameter TrainingDone=True can be passed from the
EDA tool

to the receiver model. Then the receiver model can re-issue
TrainingDone=True to

end the training process.

Let me know if this would cover it.

Thanks,
