I have to disagree completely. I wouldn't take a home pod if someone paid me.
They sound like garbage, I’ve auditioned a pair in my home and sent them back.
Now I went much higher end with a Sonos system but even the high end Echo
studio or the Google Max make the HomePod seem like a joke.
Next problem is you’re stuck with Siri. Siri is Apple’s biggest
failure in my opinion. It started out strong many years back but Apple totally
lost it’s edge in the speaking assistant space. Google and Alexa again clown
on Siri when it comes to features, configurability and usability. I understand
some over seas have a better Siri Experience do to language availability etc
but in my experience it just doesn’t provide an experience that stacks up
against the competition.
There are many things that Apple really does well. wearables, their
own chips, I like the software for the most part but audio equipment, no
thanks. At least not smart speakers. AirPods hands down love them, HomePods
not so much. We’re in to some seriously subjective areas though when we talk
about musicality etc.
Good comments though and points well made, thanks.

I’m not sure that absolutely no one is buying them <smile>
I bought my pair in November of last year and I would have to say that the
Homepod are some of the best sounding Smart Speakers I’ve ever heard and I’ve
tested quite a few.
Yes, the Homepod isn’t going to suit everyone but if you’re into the Apple
Eco system then - in theory - the Homepod should do very nicely.
Apple in my view still have some problems to sort but there’s no denying that
the Homepod has come a long way in 12 months.
The HomePod is quite expensive - particularly if you want a pair - but well
worth the money if sound quality is what you’re aiming for in a Smart speaker
package.

Hi Everyone.
A few weeks ago we discussed the Apple Homepod and the problems some users
were having with the sound.
I have just reset my Apple Homepod devices - for about the fifth time I
think - as I was having some connection issues.
I discovered that a firmware update is available which has now been
installed.
I’ve been playing music on my Homepod Stereo Pair for the last 30 minutes
and I can report that the sound - even though generally good up till now -
has improved out of sight since the Pair were updated? Or perhaps it’s
just the reinstall, either way I encourage you to check to see that your
Homepod has the latest firmware, you can do this through the Home App,
select Rooms, select the room your Homepod is in and then select the
device, swiping up to select “Open Controls”.
