It’s not that easy at all. Basically, Microsoft has to compile support for the
new processors in to their OS and code. There was an effort of ARM for
Microsoft but it never worked well and I’m not sure it’s status.
Do also remember the Apple is not ARM. While it uses ARM components
it’s most definitely their own silicon with their own tweaks. That is a 32
core processor after all with all sorts of advanced features.
I’m looking at it myself as the use of windows on the Mac is dead and
I’m ok with that. I’ve migrated entirely away from Windows my self so it’s no
problem but I can see where it might be. For now I would just count on running
Apple code on these devices.
Thanks

I would assume that fusion would update to support those processors so that
way they can run windows.

Hi.
I’ve been using VM Ware fusion on my iMac this morning and started wondering
about the future of same.
I’ve been using Fusion for as long as I’ve had an Intel Mac and that goes
back a fair way, 13 years in fact when I got my Intel iMac 2006 Intel
version.
So the obvious question is what will become of VMware Fusion when Apple move
over to their ARM chips?
Will it be possible does I wonder to make a Windows emulator for ARM devices?
Its really convenient to have 2 operating systems running side-by-side on
the one machine.
I’ve never fancied the use of a dual-boot system - boot in Windows or boot
in Mac - though I take the point regarding advantages and disadvantages in
each method of running Windows on a Mac.
