hi,
I’m using a Mid 2015 MacBook pro with 1TB of SSD storage, top end quad core I7
and 16GB of ram.
I do not have to restart voice over and I find it very very snappy, certainly
more than Yosemite although to be fair I’d actually have to run yosemite on
this same machine to compare, I ran Yosemite on an older device.

Hi Scott and thank you for your comments.
A few questions.
1. Which mac are you using?
2. Are you having to restart VO?
3. Is it snappier than Yosemite?
Thanks.

+1 to this as well.
Like the included voices and compact sounds good to my ear as well.

I found Alex Compact amongst the available voices in VO Utility and it
seems to work fine with no noticeable degradation compared to the previous
Alex voice I was using.
So far Sierra seems a definite improvement on El Kapitan with only the
issue coming over from that OS that I need to restart VO to gain proper
navigation in the Message table when I open Mail.
To my relief all the busy messages I was getting in iBooks appear to have
been resolved.

I was using Alex before the update and now it has reverted to Daniel.

That is correct. The upgrade is worth it. Believe you me.

Try logging out of the store and back in. I think, unless you are in
the Beta program, you have to use the store to get the update.

I had to go to the app store to get Sierra, because my update area
keeps saying no update is available. But it keeps giving me a failed
to download message, and when I go to purchased, it just says an error
has occurred. Why isn’t the update downloading as normal?************
