As the local weather is consistently colder and often raining now, I shifted
to riding indoors. I'm up to a about 650km now and managed to move my top
speed up to 61kph, but I'll have to wait for warmer weather to improve on
that. I took the tailbox off the python and bought a set of rollers and
have a big 15km on them so far with the python. I can't balance the python
on the rollers yet as it feels much like when I initially started riding the
python as far as balance goes. It's coming along though. I use a mark on
the wall to keep myself centered on the rollers because I can't see the
rollers to tell where I am on them. I have the front wheel in between the
two rollers right now. Steering is a little "heavy" due to the two contact
points on the front tire, but I'll try it for a week and see if my balance
improves any. Right now, I have a chair on either side of me that I rest my
arms on to help correct my balance. If after a week, I don't think I've
improved enough, I'll switch it around so the rear wheel is in between the
two rollers, and the front wheel is on the single roller, like a normal df
bike is used on them. We have a small local 1/4 mile track that we're
slowly trying to clean up and Saturday's weather is supposed to be a sunny
13 C. If so, maybe I can do some timed runs with the python and see what I
can come up with for speeds and times.
