I have found that if I lick my burns, and keep the burn in my mouth for a short while, it never gets to be a serious burn. The bowl of ice is actually a horrible idea. There are two things that are much better ideas. 1. Use butter. Not really, but if you're the hungry type, you can use butter, and if the burn is bad enough, you'll sautee the fingertips, giving yourself a small something to snack on. I take no responsibility for anyone that actually tries this, as it's a horrible idea as i said, and if you decide to try to see if you really sautee your fingers, yes you can if the burn is bad enough, and you probably deserve anything bad that happens. 2. The actual method to help a bad burn, isn't icy water, as that'll cause a possible flash boil with the blood. Just like it's bad to run frozen/hypothermic parts of your body under icy or very cold water right away, it's bad to put a burn under icy cold water right away is bad. You'll want to use warm or at the least, luke warm water at first, and then gradually get it cold. If you put icy cold water directly on a bad enough burn, like I said, it cna cause a flash boil in the small amount of blood in the capilaries there, and basically kill off the nerves in that portion of your body. I may not be a medical professional, but having a mother and step father, the first with 15 years, and the second with 28 years of medical professions, and friends all in the medical fields, I have learned a lot as well. Again, I take no responsibility if things end up unexpectedly as dependign on how severe the burn actually is, any water may be bad, and you might actually already be screwed too far to fix. Thank you and this has been another useless fact/service announcement from me. Jason Miller Interested in the Raspberry Pi, and accessibility?
