I am thinking of doing something similar based on the Orbit Research OR20
braille display/keyboard when it comes out in January2017, or whenever.
Of course the OR20 has a built-in editor, but using a PI, one should be able
to have a complete "desktop" equivelent in a very small package with speech
and braille for a less unreasonable price.
