no, it's not the problem of speakers. There was some update, before
Christmas of Raspberry Pi OS and it is not possible to work with volume
by key strokes in Mate, so I have to use alsamixer, but, when Alsamixer
is at 100%, system sounds are really loud, Orca not. That's some bug of
working Pulseaudio and Alsa together or something different, I don't know.

I did bring it up, volume up did nothing, then volume down started
decreasing, so I up arrowed to take it back up to 100%.
So it is already at 100% apparently, but for some reason, the volume is much
lower than it was.
I went into Orca and tried adjusting the volume there, but that only
increased the distortion.
It seems that Orca does not work well over 3 or 4 for a volume setting.
But this thing was louder before.
Maybe my speaker is getting weak, but it usually does not get a weaker
volume when the battery starts to run out.

and after that, press down arrow to volume down and up arrow to volume up.

I have tried in the terminal as root:
amixer set PCM 90%
but it comes back that it cannot find pcm0
Normally in Ubuntu I do this in the GUI from a control panel utility.
