It is the first and there are many more being designed. Orbit even has a
prototype of one that is 96 by 64 which would be more dots than what the TI-84
does and also could do braille correctly. The current one can do braille but I
call it fat braille. The dots are the right size but they are two spread out.
I would say in the next 3 years there will be at least 3 different displays on
the market. It looks like Orbit's is the only one that has multi heights
though which allows for colors and all kinds of stuff. I have also used a
Microscope with this totally blind. I have videos of me using it with Turtle
graphics and showing my stuff like tetris but the problem is most of the people
that want to see it are blind and it is best seen in person. I can't believe
you guys have not seen them. We have been showing it at conferences since
2015. Of course those were much more blocky the current version is about 11 by
12 and 1 and 14 inch heigh. It has a perkens keyboard below the screen for
input and for controls.

Wow, I had imagined such a display, but I didn't know they actually existed.
Granted, I once did the math that to match the resolution of a TI-83's Dot
Matrix display using Braille display dots would be about the size of a sheet of
letter-size for the display area and from the price of Braille displays I found
at the time, would cost ~10k assuming cost increased linearly with number of
dots.
Sounds like the Graffiti has a lower resolution than a TI-83(96*64 if memory
serves), and lower DPI than a Braille Display, but you wouldn't get multiple
height levels if it was just a scaled up Braille display, so there's
effectively a larger grayscale palette than a TI-83(which has a contrast
setting but can't actually do multiple shades of shaded pixel if memory serves)
or even the original Gameboy(four shades of olive green) or Gameboy Pocket(four
shades of gray). The 15K price tag is quite the hefty sum though... If I could
afford one, it would easily be the most valueable thing I own in monetary
terms. Still, something to put on the "if I ever win the lottery" list.
