this is getting good isn't it? honestly, i respect everyone's opinions so far.
i
am not a totally ignorant tn-birder on this subject, and i am interested in
getting the facts. i guess saying that all cats should be kept in seems a bit
like ethnic cleansing. my experience is that some cats are better predators
than
others. some prefer birds while others prefer rodentia, or nothing at all. i'm
not yet ready to condemn them all or the people who own them. living in an old
cabin in the country, i need some help with varmits, and cats, even lazy cats,
make a big difference. if i had a cat that brought me warblers, i would find a
way to stop it, including keeping it inside by day.

i am looking for that data that is not skewed by lumping all cats, house and
feral. sounds like it may be out there and i'll take the advice and try and
find
it. i do consider myself a responsible cat owner, and don't like being lumped
into the irresponsible bird killer category without good reason. i can't do
much
about tall glass buildings, or cell towers, or tva selling off good habitat for
a private golf course, but i can control my pets. and if they misbehave, i
will.
