Today at Dyson Ditch the usual abundance of Canadian geese and a variety of ducks (Including a couple dozen Canvasbacks) and gulls were present and quite active. Also 4 groups of Sandhill Cranes, consisting of 200-300+ total, flew over headed north. That's a lovely sound. An adult bald eagle was perched in the vicinity of the Pardue Pond eagle nest. This is on the south side of the Cumberland River near the inlet to the Dyson Ditch WR. The abandoned Eagle Pass nest in Dyson Ditch WR is gone, a casualty of February's ice storms. 40-50 American White Pelicans were resting throughout the back water area. A red-shouldered and a broad-winged hawk were seen too. The snow has melted and the Best viewing is from the Cumberland River Bicentennial Trail via the Eagle Pass trail head off of Chapmansboro Rd.
