Hi All,

An interesting thing I found is that it seems to me that the Hooded Crane's
breeding range in eastern Asia seems to be closer to Alaska than the Common, or
Eurasian Crane's range according to range maps I have seen.

Common Crane is on the ABA checklist but I do not know where the accepted birds
were found. If a Eurasian, or Common, Crane could be accepted and the Hooded
actually breeds a little closer, then why not a Hooded too. Just speculating
out loud as don't yet know all of the specifics.

Also, to Marcia Davis' point I myself thought the wing drooping in the videos
was just part of the preening process, but a preening crane expert would be
needed to verify that, and, there are little Hooded Crane gems in all 9 of the
videos for those that only looked at the first one.

Good Birding All!

Mark
